URGENT DISPATCH

from the Alamo
"To the People of Texas and

All Americans
in the World . .

On February 24, 1836, Lt.
Col. William Barret Travis
wrote his stirring plea to
come to the aid of the
defenders within the walls
of Mission San Antonio de
Valero (The Alamo). Very
little came. As a result, 188
brave men died fighting for
the cause of a free and independent
Texas.

The "Remember the Alamo!" Campaign*
has been established to improve
the historical context of Alamo
Plaza through a series of educational,
interpretive, and preservation projects.
Your contribution of $150 or more will
support Alamo archaeological studies,
the preservation and restoration of
over 20,000 Alamo artifacts, and
publication of the findings. These are
but a few of the educational and historical
projects that will benefit from
your support of the "Remember the
Alamo!" campaign.
To commemorate this special effort, an
outstanding limited edition Alamo
keepsake has been selected to reward
those who contribute to this exciting
historical project.

In the tradition of the "Statue of
Liberty" commemorative plate used to
raise restoration funds for the effort,
Pickard China, Inc. has been commissioned
again exclusively for the
"Remember the Alamo!" fundraising
program.
