ON THE COVER
For more than forty years Caroline Shelton has been painting scenes of San Antonio. Since her
arrival in San Antonio she has been fascinated by the influence of the Mexican culture, and her
paintings reflect this interest. The watercolor on the cover depicts Los Pastores, the Christmas
miracle play which represents one of the oldest Hispanic traditions in San Antonio and the Americas.
