Massey Named Executive
Director of Mary Moody
Northen Endowment
Betty Massey, who served for 10 years
as the executive director of the Galveston
Historical Foundation, has been appointed
executive director of the Mary Moody
Northen Endowment, which includes the
Moody Mansion Museum in Galveston.
She assumed her new position on September
1.
Massey's responsibilities will include
administration of the foundation properties
as well as developing and managing
Northen endowment programs.
The endowment, founded by the late
Mary Moody Northen, is committed tosupporting projects for the betterment of
the community.
Under Massey's watch, the Galveston
Historical Foundation grew to be one of
the largest locally based preservation
groups in the United States. It is the oldest
historic preservation organization in
Texas.
