In the 20th century, Cistercian monks from Hungary made their way to Dallas, where they established the Cistercian Preparatory school in 1962. They built the school on a philosophy that combined academics with Christian faith, morality, and spirituality. Archival materials reflect the rich history of the institution.

Notes

On the back of the photograph is a handwritten note that reads "First location of CPS's flagpole. It was at the other end of the parking lot island in front of reception. Note old flood lights that covered the lot in front of the gym. 12-13-12."

There is a stamp from Taylor Publishing Company that reads, "Pict. No. 1, Page No. 1."
