FFA Livestock Show, spon
sored by the First State Bank
and Chamber of Commerce
was a rousing success
Saturday, as was the breeders
show sponsored by Rosanky
Ranch Supply, inc., and Mr
Henry Haisler
Pedro Campos had the Grand
Champion Steer, it was pur-
chased by the Rosanky Ranch
Supply, Mr Prentice Arthur,
and Mr . and Mrs Richard Bui
dick, of B-B Ranch Theanitnal
weighed 864 and brought $1 40 a
lb or $1209 60 Gayle Bohot had
the reserve champion steer,
Marhil Mfg Co. purchased the
893 lb animal for $1 00 alb or
$893 00. The 3rd place steer
was shown by Stewart Burns and
was bought by Mr. and Mrs. A.
J Rod for $1 39 a lb or $1241-
27 Mr and Mrs Rod donated
the steer to Father Holtman.
The animal weighed 893 lbs.
City of Smithville Light and
Water Department bought the
4th place steer from Johnny
Schroeder for $1.15 a lb or
$864.80 The steer weighed 752

The Rods donated the animal to
the First Christian Church.
Jerry Waneck showed the 7th
place steer, which weighed 878
lbs and was sold to the Lockhart
Livestock Commission Com-
pany, Mr Jo Lee Rathman
for 95 cents a lb. or $834.10.
The flth place steer was shown
Ronnie French, the animal
weighed 907 lbs and brought 85
cents a lb. or $770.95. The
animal was purchased by Law-
rence Wesson, Eb Scarbrough,
United Food Store, Joe Ebner
Barber Shop, Vita Craft - Mr
Ivan Webb, Skip Hyson Rabb
Insurance Agency, Robinson
Family Fashions, Dr. J.D Mc
Bee, Dr. Dareld R Morris, and
Ragsdale's Jewelry Store This
group donated the steer to the
Smithville Volunteer Fire De-
partment for their annual Bar-
becue, which will be held on May
18 The 9th place steer owned by
Clinton Seidel, weighed 946 lbs
and brought 85 cents a lb or
$804 10. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Fre-
derick, and Mr. and Mrs. Max
Jones bought the animal and re-
quested that the price of the re-
sale would be donated to the Me-
thodist Church The 10th place
steer and the last steer to sell
was owned by Earl Mutschink,
and sold to Mr. and Mrs. A. J.
Rod for $1 00 a lb. or $738.00.

won the showmanship award

mal weighed 220 lbs. and was
purchased by the Poor Mans
Club for $3 00 a lb. or $660.00.

Grand Champion in the breeding
bull division, and Danny
Schroder had the Reserve
Champion Danny was awarded
the Showmanship Award.Jimmy
Hoskins placed 3rd tu the bull
division
Cash donations were received
from Mr and Mrs E.F Vacek,
Miss Jewel Rosanky and the
Farm Bureau Trophies will be
given by the Snuthvillt.' Federal
Savings and Loan Company at
the annual Awards banquet
The FFA would like to thank
the Jamboree Committee and
the Hill Estate along with Mr
and Mrs Lawrence Skelley for
the useof their property Thanks
also to Mr Dwight Nance and
Howard Burns for the use of
their equipment and to the
promotional committee, beaded
