"Do you know 1 never realized
there was so much genuine fun and
st the samo time so much to he
learned that Is 'good and profitable
as In the rehearsals for 'The U'.g
Nolne' to be given by II. P. O. Elks
on May 31-32 under the direction
of Mr. Love "
Tho exclaina'.lon was heard many
times after last night's rehearaul for
the Elks' show and strikes the key-
noto of the succcbb Mr. Love has ev
ery place ho g;ie8.
If any one thinks It Is a "snap" to
take a bunch of amateurs In hand
and within n short time produce
near professionals thut person Is
sadly mistaken. Hut Mr. Love does
this apparently with jut trouble.
Some of the members of tho cost
begin to think thry are working hard
when suddenly they make the dis
covery that the only one who Js do
ing real hard work Is. Mr. Love; that
they are reallv having a whole lot
of fun end at the ame time learning
songs music recitations dancing and
stage presence and "business" in n
manner gained In no other way.
About the time a member of the
cast gets a trifle peevish Hid discour-
aged because he or vh: can not quick-
ly master a dlf.'J'ult step or strike a
note Just right the idea Is driver
out by a Joke a aong or funny
"atunt." and the first thing they
know the difficulty has been overcome.
Last night's rehearsal was keenly
watched and It was soon apparent
that not the smallest detail was over-
looked br Mr. Love. He had eyes
for everything and everybody and has
a ray of correcting mistakes with a
fnnnylsm and without criticism and
thin explains In part the success of
the shows.
