GOOD PLATFORM
ELK CITY, Okla. (UP) — A
World War I veteran, ■ Roscoe
Axton, has announced his can-
didacy for president of the Unit-
ed States on a "np-points-for-ket-
chup" platform, f
Because of his team of two
German shepherd dogs knd little
red wagon, which he drives
around town, Axton says he will
not need io apply for any extra
gasoline to make his campaign.
He has had printed some cam-
paign cards on which are the
words:
"Axton asking for the next
four years" and "down with
points on ketchup."
Axton says he will need no
other campaign planks in his
platform since, as he put It, "the
people are so mad about the ket-
chup situation."
The OPA last Sunday raised
the point value of ketchup from
30 to 50 points for the 14-ounce
bottle.

Whenever there is the least
controversy between people re-
garding things taught in the
Bible someone is quick to say
the reason for our differences 13
that we cannotall understand the
Bible alike. Is this assertion
true, Is it a fact that all men
cannot understand the Bible a-
like, But we understand other
things alike. When we under-
stand them at all. We can aii
understand other writings alike
if we really understand the j
meanings of the words We wera;
taught when in High School that j
if the words of a correct sen- j
tence are properly understood, j
then the Ideas therein conveyed |
are clearly perceived. Certainly |
if two or more people under-'
stand a problem in Mathematics
they all understand it exactly
alike. Why should it not be so j
with understanding the Bible'' J
We admit there is some of the
Bible we do not understand. We !
i suspect there is some of the!
bible none understands. Perhaps
no one will understand it unles;
he does in eternity. But we are \
not prepared to admit that two j
or more persons understand a {
'sentence in the Bible and they
