1963-64: A Year of
Mr. Clyde M. Gott, principal of Thomas Jeffer-
son High School, believes that a principal's chief
purpose is to direct the instructional program of
the school. Planning, organizing, and supervising
all phases of school life are other responsibilities
of the principal.
Mr. Gott is well qualified to direct instruction at
Thomas Jefferson. He attained his Bachelor of Sci-
ence degree at Southwest Texas State Teachers' Col-
lege. which is also the alma mater of President
Lyndon Johnson. At the University of Texas Mr.
Gott received his Master of Science degree in edu-
cational administration; at the present time he is
working toward the degree of Doctor of Philosophy.*1:
