Progressive Aid Club. Met June 13
at the palatial home of the president
Mrs. Minnie Hamilton on the South
End on the beautiful shady lawn.' All
was nicely seated and opened in a
unuul form of opening. This being the
birth place of the club also the begin-
ning of the 2nd series. All wore over-
joyed fleemlngly. Fifteen members
answered to roll call one out of town.
After completing a routine of business
the hostess served a regular 5 o clock

Houston where she spent several days

cal Club on last Wednesday. An old

Miss Adlene Williams of San Antonio
and Mr. Cland Organ of Donison were
present and Joined In the Joy of the oc-
casion. Mrs. Mayme Jones of Dallas
has been a guest of Miss Helen Taylor
her sister for the past 3 weeks and
was royally entertained last Wednes-
day by her mother on Baptist Hill.
Mrs. Jones left for Dallas Friday. Read

Gilmer. Gilmer District Board No. 3
met with Gilgal Baptist Church Friday
and Saturday with a very good repre-
sentation of officers and delegates.
President A. W. Wright seemed to be
at his best and carried out the pro-
pram to the letter. Total amount col-
lected $41.50. Sunday morning serv-
ices at Gilgal were good. At 4 o'clock
the Loyal Friends of America assem-
bled for their annual thanksgiving
services. Prof. E. J. OwenB in his own
eloquent way extended words of wel-
come to them and Pastor Howard
preached a soul-sterring sermon; col-
lection $18.65. This order bears the
distinction of having at its head the
Vice National Grand Master in the per-
son of Prof. A. Ingram. Lord's supper
was served at night. Mr. and Mrs.
John Fagan of Glen wood worshipped
with ua Sunday. Rev. W. H. Hicks

Rockwall. "Sunday school was well
attended at the Churches. Rev. G. W.
Nelson was at his post with a large
congregation at the A. M. E. Church.
At 3 o'clock the Masons had their ser-
mon preached by Rev. E. M. Young.
Sunday evening at-8:30 o'clock. Rev.
Nelson preached a great sermon text
taken from P.ev. 6:17 and last verse:
"For the great day of His wrath and
who will be able to stand." The Ma.
sons had a plcnio on the 24th and at
night the installation. Rockwall and
Farmersvllle crossed bats score was 4
and 11 in favor of Farmersvllle. On
the 19th the .'azz band had a picnic.
Music was given by the band. Rock-
wall and Farmersvllle croed bats
score waa 1 and 9 favor of Rockwall.

Uflo. Services at the Shiloh Baptist
Church Sunday was excellent throuph-
otit the day. Sunday school at the
usual hour. All classes were combined
and taught by Rev'. E. M. Rnndon. Af-
ter the close of the Sunday School a
fervent prayer service was carried out
at conclusion. The pastor Rev. E. M.
Randon ascended the rostrum and
chose for a text Hebrew 6:13 theme:
"God's promises are the best food for
the soul."- The sermon was replete
with sound reasoning that went direct
to the heart of all true Christians. The
evening worship consisted of songs
prayers and talking meeting. Mi-is

p. m. at the Shiloh Church. Miss Lulu
