CACA Winter Bowling League Ends Season
The CACAWinter Bowling League finished off its 1977-
1978 season with a Casino-Buffet Party on Sunday, May 28.
Games of chance, such as blackjack and roulette were en-
joyed by all, and the money still in the hands of the
winners at the end of the evening was used to bid for
prizes in an auction. Trophies were also awarded to the
following:

Annual Miss Chinatown Pageant and Picnic
The CACA Annual Picnic will be held on August 20th,
at the SPJST Lodge, 1435 Beall, Houston.
All girls of Chinese descent who are US citzens or
permanent residents and are between the ages of 18 - 25,
are invited to enter the 1978 Miss Chinatown Texas Pageant
sponsored be the CACA Houston Lodge and its Women's Aux-
iliary. The winner will receive:
- An all expense paid trip to San Francisco to
compete in the Miss Chinatown USA Contest
All contestants will receive:
- $25.00 for expenses
- $50.00 savings bond
- Professional tips on poise and makeup
The contestants will be judged on poise, personality,
talent, and beauty.
Deadline for entry is July 15th. Please contact Linda
Woo, 721-3818, or Mora Wong, 729-4380 for more infor-
mation.
CACA Youth Club News
The new YC Officers for 1978 are: President, Tony
Gee (789-5335), Vice President, Sandy Lee (926-2331),
Secretary, Kelly Lim, Treasurer, Joyce Woo Lee, and
Pariiamentarian, Wilson Gaw.
The CACA YC sponsored Summer Bowling League will
begin this year on Tuesday night, June 6th at 9:30 pm
at the Palace Bowling lanes, 4191 Bellaire Blvd. It
is open to all Chinese youth between the ages of 12 to
21. It doesn't matter how high or low an average you
hold, and if you don't know how to bowl, the league is
a good place to learn.
A YC meeting will also be held June 6th at 9pm,
right before the league begins, in the meeting room of
the bowling alley. Activities for the summer will be
discussed. Membership in the YC is open to all Chinese
youth between the ages of 12 and 21. To join simply
attend the meeting or contact any YC officer or member.

Members of the CACA basketball team who partici-
pated in the 1978 Youth Cup Invitational Basketball
Tournament sponsored in part by the CACA Houston Lodge.
They are pictured with Mr. George Hunter, a represent-
ative with the Borden's Milk Co., which donated all
drinks for the occasion, and Mr. Sherman Toy, a tour-
nament organizer.
CBC SKATING PARTY
The Chinese baptist Church will hold a SKATING PARTY
on June 26th, Monday night, from 8 to 11 pm at Airling
Skating Rink, 10715 Airline Dr. Admission will be $2 and
all proceeds will go for the Church Youth Mission Trip to
Arkansas, Mississippi, and Louisiana.
