Texans Proudly Escort Big Buzz Through Another
'"Eight young men called the Texans are raising the school mascot Big Buzz to their shoulders and showing him to
the cheering crowd . . . so goes the well-known voice of Tommy O'Brien as he broadcasts Jacket games to the
stay-at-home crowd.
Eight senior boys are chosen to serve as a special guardian to Big Buzz. Traditional black boots, ties, and cowboy
hats are familiar around the school. They represent the school's spirit and enthusiasm.
They accompany him to all out-of-town games. Other duties include raising the flags at football games and lead-
ing cheers while cheerleaders are on the opponent's side.
