Scores Hit With NFH Men
JIMMY WILLIAMS backed by the Eral McNutt Band croons "Blue Moon" during the North Fort
Hood Services variety show "Just For Laughs." (Photos by Blanke).
Master of ceremonies for the
evening was comedian Jerry Atom
a long-time professional clown
famous for his pantomines mimic
ry and lampoons.
AUDIENCE SCREAMS
In a fifteen minute bit depicting
the tribulations of a city subway
rider done in complete silence
(except for the suppressed screams
of the audience) he completely
changes the map of his face so
far and so often looks as if he
might never again find its true
shape.
Jimmy Williams featured singer
and saxophonist crooned a couple
of tunes and sang a gay little thing
called "Dunkin Bagles." Jimmy
was famous all over the Far East
Command this time last year for
his rendition of this song a whim
sical farce on the private tongue
of the be-bop set.
The sultry song styles of Dorothy
French a Killeen girl who sang
"He's Funny that Way" provided
the feminine portion of the show.
To please her audience Dorothy
also crooned the old favorite "Lov
er man."
FRANTIC JAZZ
An instrumental number follow
ed featuring Jimmy Williams and
his alto sax with Earl McNutt's
band doing a frantic jazz interpre
tation of "Night Train."
This low down New Orleans style
blues number has a startling ef
fect on the audience. As the music
gets wilder and wilder the more
self expressive members of the
audience are unable to keep their
seats and are often found dancing
