PRESIDENT'S WELCOME - DR. JOHN H. RUSSELL
I am pleased to welcome you to the start of a new academic year. The McMurry University
Community is one that embraces students, faculty and staff in a way few other experiences can.
The intellectual challenge provided by our rigorous academic programs will greet you from
the start of the fall semester-be ready for it. The opportunity to grow and develop will present
itself across the spectrum of campus activities-seek them out and participate.
It is significant that. even as we initiate transformational change, the University continues
to subscribe to principles that will embody all of the McMurry experience-our Core Values:
Christian Faith as the foundation of life
Personal Relationships as the catalyst of life
Learning as the journey of life
Excellence as the goal of life, and
Service as the measure of life
As you address many challenges you will encounter in the coming year. take time to examine
them in the context of these values. By doing so, you will be well served in these encounters
and better prepared for those you face in the future.
On behalf of the entire McMurry Community, I hope and pray for your success in the coming
year. Your success is our success.
Sincerely.
John H. Russell
President
