General Cos remained on Galveston Island until August, when he was sent
to Hardin's camp on the Trinity.

The Mexicans used copper balls in their warfare.
On May 15 a Mr. Trask died from blood poison from a copper ball. He
tad been wounded in a skirmish with Mexicans on April 15 and brought to
Galveston from Harrisburg.
