USS TEXAS (BB-35)
This great battleship served her country through two world wars, fighting off the shores of Normandy in 1944 and
hastening to the Pacific in 1945 to bombard the contested island of Iwo Jima. She was transferred to the State of
Texas in April 1948 and today is a revered memorial at the San Jacinto State Park in Texas37
