LIFE, LOVE, AND YOU.
Lot my voico ring out and over tlic
earth,
Through all tlie grief and strife,
Within'golden joy in a silver mirth:
Thank God for Life!
Let my voice swell out through the
great abyss
To the azure dome al>ove,
With a chord of faith in the harp of
bliss:
Thank God for Love !
Let my voico thrill out liencath and
fibovc
The whole world through:
Oh, my Love, and Life, Oh, my Lite
and LoVo,
Thank God for You I
Prof. Duslllnffcr.
The full name of Prof. Dccllingcr,
the author of the protest against Papal
infallibility, which has created such
great commotion in the Catholic
world, is John Joseph Iguatius Dad-
lingcr. Ho was born at Bamberg, Ba-
varia, on the 28th of February, 1700.
Io 1811 he was ordained a priest, and
shortly afterward* he received an ap-
pointment in Bamburg. Four years
later, he published Vis first work, en-
titled, "The Doctrine of the Eucharist
in the Three First Centuries.'' He
gained by this work the Chair of
Eccclcsiastical History at the Munich
University. In 1828 he published a
"Manual of Church History." In 1851
he voted in the Bundestag at Frank-
fort-on-the-Main, where he was a dele-
gate, for the absolute separation of
"Jiurch and State. In 18(51 he eom-
„ted the temporal power of the
and in 1803 he delivered at the
Mu&h Congress of Catholic Savants
a rem-kj,!,^ n,idrcsfl on the past and
future <t Catholic theology. Of his
efforta 04ate to defeat the dogma of
Papal iir.vin,ility, we have already
spoken.
\ Southern firmer says he can fatten
his sheep on stemmed feed for one third
less expence tii<«* ^ dry feed, and get
one-fourth more weigi,^ This is the
result of five years experience.
This is the latest about the Pitts-
field and North Adams Kailroad:
Queries one passenger, as the train
comes to a dead Halt:
"Well, I wonder what we've stopped
for now ?"
"Why,"exclaims a fellow traveler,
"its to tako the cowcatcher off the en-
gine and put it on behind, to keep the
COWS from running over u«."

Tlic Season and II* Danger*.
The human body is chiefly composed
of tissues and fibres asseiiHiwvc to every
change in tlic condition of the atmos-
phere as the most delicate electrometcr-
or the quicksilver in a barometer tube.
The stomach, the skin, the nerves, the
lungs, and the excretory organs arc
especially liable to be affected by these
variation, and the best defence against
their disastrous tendency is to keep the
digestive machinery, winch feeds and
nourishes the whole system, in good
working order.
If the stomach is weak or disordered
neither the blood or tlic bile can lie in a
healthy state, and upon the fitness of
these two important fluids lbr the offices
assigned them bv nature, and Hie regu-
larity of their flow, health in a great
measure depends.
When the air is heavily laden with
chilling vapors, as it often is at this sea-
son of the year, the digestion should be
im objcct of peculiar care. If it is weak
und languid, tlie whole physical struc-
ture «vill be enervated. Ifii is vigorous,
the eutire organization will be strong to
xesi i the uptoward and depressing in-
flux ee of a damp and vieiated atmo-
sphere.
A pure and powerful tonic is therefore
especially needed as a safeguard against
the diseases most common in the spring,
Hud llostetter's Stomach Bitters being
the most wholesome and potent medi-
cine of the class at present known, a
course of it is particularly advisable at
this period of the year. The stomach
will there!be toned and strengthened,
the liver and bowels regulated, the ner-
vous syrlem braced up, and nature put
in a state of active defence against the
miasma which superinduces intermittent
and remittent fevers, rheuuictisms, ner-
vous debility, headache, hypochondria
and other complaints which are apt to
assail the untuned and unfortified organ-
izations. The body is strengthened with-
out exciting the brain.and"consequently
no unpleasant reaction follows its reviv-
ing and renovating operation.
