Three wrecks withi n 30 minutes
ft
Sweetwater Emergency Services personnel responded to three wrecks, all within 30 minutes of each
other, in Nolan County on Friday afternoon, April 27, 2012. According to Sweetwater Assistant Fire
chief Chris Kiser, one person was transported to Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital via ambulance after
a two car accident occurred on the corner of Broadway and Elm Streets (shown above). One person
was in each vehicle.
Another wreck occurred on Interstate 20, near mile marker 249, when a vehicle hit the center wires on
the interstate, and was entangled and entrapped. The driver of the vehicle had to be cut out the car, as
the wires trapped the driver inside. The driver was transported to Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital.
A third wreck occurred in Roscoe near mile marker 238 in the east bound lane. One vehicle had a
blowout and caused a chain reaction behind it, in which four vehicles were involved in the wreck. No
transports were made at the scene.
