The above license was issued on Sunday;
and on same day it was execuited,-the 23d
day of July, 1846,-a license was issued to
J. T. Miller and Sarah Haulght, and also to
Joseph Graham and Catherine Kimnel, the
mother of the lady who was one of the parties
to the first marriage.
In the same old record appears the record
of the marriage of 'William P. Overton and
Martha Ann Newton. William t. Overton
was one of thle )allas county pioneers, and
is still living in thle county, a few miles southwest
of the city of Dallas.
Tlhe first bill of sale recorded in the county,
August 9th, 1846, was from Edward Welborn
to John Young, and is as follows:
