Scroggins, William, married Lucretia Strong.
Smith, Rev. James A., and family, came from
Mississippi in 1846. He, his twin
brotller Wesley, now of Eastland county,
and his brother William A., superintendent
of tlhe State Blind Asylum
during the war, were all Methodist
preachers, and each one in the locality
of hlis residence; from his ruddy coinplexion
and bristly hair, was known by
the sobriquet of ("Cedar Top,"-by the
way, three excellent and sincere men.
James A. Smitll's children were: John
Wesley, married Miss Wilburn; Joshua
La Fayette, married Miss Daniels; was
a tcptain in Stone's Sixth Texas Cavalry;
murdered in Dallas, in 1867, by Wilson,
an attache of the Freedmnen's Bureau,
who fled the country; Robert married
Sopllronia Wilnn; Fanny Killen married
lJohln M. Laws. and is dead.
S\wing, Matt L., came in 1848; now in New
Jersey.

married Eleanor Otwell.

Jones; Sarah A. married P. A. Sayre.

Tilley, Jefferson, came in 1844; married Eliza
Cole.
Thompson, M, arlin M., came in 1848; married
Lucy Horton.
