Letter from Carter Dalton to Linnet Moore. He wanted to respond to Linnet's letter before too much time had passed. He was worried about Lula going to Dallas to visit Linnet. He is about to be on his way home to spend time with Jim Cook. Jim's mother and sister are in Austin, but he hasn't seen them. He asks about who is in love with Linnet now.
