Tarleton's education majors
shared that the Week in the
Schools partnership with West-
park Elementary was an extreme-
ly important constructivist learn-
ing experience, and many noted
the connections between this ex-
perience and concepts presented
throughout their education cours-
es. The education majors stated
that this experience showed them
the importance of classroom man-
agement, time management, and
how to create an effective learn-
ing environment. Tarleton's edu-
cation majors were very apprecia-
tive of the support from the West-
park Elementary teachers and im-
pressed with the technology uti-
lized in every classroom. In addi-
tion to knowledge gained con-
cerning instructional strategies,
classroom management tech-
niques, and positive interactions
with children, the education ma-
jors shared additional insights
from the Week in the Schools ex-
perience. Patricia Wiedebusch
shared that she now understood
the importance of structure, rou-
tine, and disinfectant. Jennifer
Miller exclaimed, "Invest in com-
fortable shoes!"
