Roma Student Council Has Disco Dance
The Roma High School
Student Council sponsored a
disco dance and dance
contest on Friday the 13th
which proved to be suc-
cessful.
Introducing the contest
was Laura Cuellar, an
elementary student who
performed an excellent
rendition of Greased
Lightning. Eight other
couples proved to be most
delightful to watch as each
showed their talent in
dancing.
Senior Class Plans
Halloween Movie
A spooky movie will he
shown by the Senior Class of
Rio Grande City High School
at the Garmon Theatre on
Halloween night.
The movie will be "The
Werewolf of England," and
the public is invited to at-
tend. The feature will be
from 8:00 to 10:00 p.m. on
October 31.
Admission will be $1.00 per
child, $1.25 per student, and
$1.50 per adult.
Keep your child safe and
off the streets. Have them
attend the Spooky Halloween
movie.
The three top couples were
Jerry de la Garza and
Sandra Munoz, first place;
Mike Mascorro and Melba
G^rza, second place and
itoel Macias and Ester
Guzman, third place. These
students were each awarded
trophies for their respective
places.
Other contestants were
Benny Rodriguez and
Leticia Gonzalez; Javier
Gonzalez and Belinda
Chapa; Pablo Talamente
and Esmeralda Garza;
Aselma Escobar and
Thelma Carrera; and
Gustavo Arce and Irma
Villarreal.
Also, the Roma Band
played at Port Isabel in the
Queen Isabella Parade on
Saturday, October 14. The
Roma Band took third place
in the parade, which Roma
students enjoyed playing in.4
They also took in the scenery"
at the beach on South Padre
Island.
