A quorum of the House was an-
nounced present.
The Invocation was offered by
Chaplain Clinton Kersey, as follows:
"In God's word we find these ad-
monitions:
'Ye are the light of the world. A
city that is set on an hill cannot be
hid.
'Neither do men light a candle, and
put it under a bushel, but on a candle-
stick; and it giveth light unto all
that are in the house.
'Let your light so shine before men,
that they may see your good works,
and glorify your Father which is in
heaven.' Matthew 5: 14-15-16
"Almighty God, thank Thee for the
night that we may rest from our
labors. Thank Thee for this day that
we may work together. But above all,
we thank Thee for these men who
have given themselves for govern-
ment service which is ordained of
Thee. May the actions of this day,
words spoken truly, be a light to all
our people. In Jesus' Name, Amen."January 11, 1967
