Handwritten note on the front of photograph: "Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Hill, Longview, Texas., 300 [block] of South Center St." and "Molly, the cook, her boy, Arthur"

Handwritten note on the back of photograph: "Mr. Richard (Dick) Cabell Hill was born Jan-23, 1823 and died Aug-16-1901, Longview, Texas - There is a C.S.A. marker at his grave, Freewood [Cemetery]. Mrs. Hill was the Joe Mer Martha (Mattie) Rogers, she was born in 1836. Many years after Mr. Hill's death, she married Dr. W. S. Mayfield...her later she went to the Confederate Home in Austin where she died in 1932, aged 96 years."
