COUNTY CLERK'S OFFICE SHOWS HEAVY INCREASE
Filings in the County Clerk's office for
the first twenty-three days of January show an
increase of 20 percent over the filings during the
corresponding period in January, 1918, both in
the number of instruments recorded and in the
revenue of the office. M. L. Camp, Chief
Deputy County Clerk, said that there was a spurt
of business during the first few days of the
month last year, but that filing gradually
decreased during the rest of the month, whereasthe reverse of that has been the case this year,
business having gradually increased as the
month has progressed. The filings of the last
week were the heaviest of the month. He
predicted that if filings should continue to
increase at this rate this week and next the
business of the office for the month would show
a considerable increase over that of January last
years.Dallas Journal 2096 25
