tax man, and a clerk or assistant to assist in the collection of
delinquent taxes, and in the filing and prosecuting of tax suits.
Such Assistant County Attorney shall receive such salary as
the Commissioners Court may determine, not to exceed Three
Thousand Dollars ($3,000.00) per annum, and such clerk or
assistant a salary not to exceed Eighteen Hundred Dollars
($1800.00) per annum, such salaries to be paid monthly out of
a percentage of all delinquent taxes collected."
SEC. 2. All laws and parts of laws in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed.
SEC. 3. The fact that in Chapter 49, Acts of the 43rd Legislature,
1st Called Session, no act or provision was made for
the compensation of employees other than Assistant County
Attorneys of the County Attorney in such counties, which omission
and failure to so provide will result in a complete breakdown
of law enforcement in such counties unless adequate provision
is made for same, and the language of such Act is doubtful
whether or not the County Attorneys in such counties will
have authority to appoint and compensate such assistants and
other employees creates an emergency and an imperative public
necessity that the Constitutional Rule requiring bills to be read
on three several days be and the same is hereby suspended, and
this Act shall take effect from and after its passage, and it is
so enacted.

1934, by a vote of 23 yeas, 3 nays.]
