Sure
Way
to have money is to save it. The pne sure way to
save it is by depositing it in a responsible bank.
You will then be exempt from the annoyance of
having it burn holes in your pockets, and aside
from the fact that your money will be safe from
theft, the habit of saving tends to the establish-
ment of thrift, econemy, discipline and a general
understanding of business principles essential
to your success.
To those wishing to establish relations with a
safe, strong bank, we heartily extend our services

We understand there was a
few people who took offense at
our article in last issue in which
we classed a portion of those
opposing Senator Bailey as "dis-
gruntled politicians, populists,
republicans and mugwumps,"
and asked the question, "How
many of those opposing Joseph
W. Sailey in Stonewall county
voted the straight democratic
ticket in the last presidential
election." Now this article
above referred to only applies to
those to whom it applies, and if
you are a true blue democrat and
always vote the democratic ticket
then it does not apply to you, oth-
erwise vve have no apologies to
make. There are a few good
democrats in Stonewall county
who are opposing Senator Bailey
—good men, who are honest in
their convictions, and who have
as much right to their way of
thinking as we do. Still we can-
not believe they view the matter
from a conservative standpoint,
for this reason, viz: Senator
Bailey has been tried by his fel-
low men and declared innocent
of all the numerous charges pre-
ferred against him, therefore we,
as true democrats, should stand
by rather than denounce him,
and aid him in his usefulness in
the United States Senate. To
try to tear him down and injure
his- reputation in congress is
undemocratic. Senator Bailey
is our senator for the next six
years in spite of faith, and when
he again announces—if he should
decide to make the race again—
then if you are opposed to him
get out and fight him to a finish.
No living man can accuse us of
taking up the fight for Senator
Bailey until after his vindication,
although we have always admired
him, and we are not fighting for
Joe Bailey today as an individual,
but rather are we defending
what we believe to be the prin-
ciples of true democracy—we
never voted any other ticket.

The strongest paint is the one
that takes least gallons; least gal-
lons to buy; leust gallons to paint;
and the strongest paint is the one
that wears the longest.
These lessons are useful.
