12 GENERAL AND SPECIAL LAWS.
SEC. 7. The Governor shall appoint, as soon as this Act takes
effect, a person to act as Judge for the 108th Judicial District
who shall have the qualifications prescribed by law.
SEC. 8. The judge and District Attorney of the 47th Judicial
District as heretofore constituted, shall be the Judge and District
Attorney of the 47th Judicial District as constituted and reorganized
by this Act during the terms for which they each respectively
were elected.
SEC. 9. All laws and parts of laws in conflict herewith are
hereby expressly repealed.
SEC. 10. The fact that the docket of the district court of the
47th Judicial District, as heretofore constituted, is so congested
as to need immediate relief, creates an imperative public necessity
demanding that the constitutional rule requiring that bills
be read on three several days be suspended, and this Act take
effect and be in force from and after its passage, and it is hereby
so enacted.

OF HOLDING COURT.
H. B. No. 169.] CHAPTER 8.
An Act to amend Title 8, Article 199 Section 1, Subdivision 23, page 96
of the Regular Session of the Thirty-ninth Legislature of the State
of Texas, changing the time of holding the terms of the District
Court in-the Twenty-third Judicial District of Texas, and declaring
an emergency.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Texas:
SECTION 1. Title 8, Article 199, Section 1, subdivision 23,
page 96 of the General Laws passed by the Thirty-ninth Legislature
Regular Session be so amended as to hereafter read as
follows:
"Section 1. That the Twenty-third Judicial District of Texas
shall be composed of the counties of Brazoria, Fort Bend, Wharton
and Matagorda and the terms of the district court in said
counties shall be held therein in each year as follows:
In the county of Matagorda beginning on the first Monday
in October of each year and may continue in session for five
weeks.
In the county of Fort Bend beginning on the fifth Monday
after the first Monday in October of each year and may continue
in session five weeks.
In the county of Wharton beginning on the tenth Monday after
the first Monday in October of each year and may continue
in session seven weeks.
