SPECIAL LAWS. 59
SEC. 2. That the Breckenridge Independent School District
as created by this Act shall have all the rights, duties, powers
and privileges conferred by the General Laws of the State of
Texas upon independent school districts of school corporations
incorporated for free school purposes only, and shall be under
the control of the General Laws of Texas in all things.
SEC. 3. That full control and management of the public
schools of the Breckenridge Independent School District, as
created by this Act, shall be vested in a board of seven school
trustees, who shall have and are hereby vested with all the
powers, rights, privileges and duties that are provided by the
General Laws of Texas for boards of trustees of towns and
villages incorporated for free school purposes only.
SEC. 4. It is hereby specifically provided that the seven persons
constituting the board of trlltees of the present Breckenridee
Independent School District shall, until the expiration
o0 tihe term for which they were elected, and until the election
and qualification of their successors, hold the office of trustees
and continue the board of trustees of the Breckenridge Indenendent
School District as crested by this Act, and their
successors shall be elected for the term and in the manner prescribed
by the General Laws of Texas for the election of trusteps
in inde-endent school districts incorporated for free school
p'rlnoses only.
SEC 5. It ;s hereby specifically provided that no clause or
section of this Act shall be construed so as to interfere with
or invalidate any outstanding indebtedness, including bonds Of
the npresent Breekenridze Indepen.dent School District.
SEC C. The fact that a lar-e -ortion of the territory proposed
to be inc1'lded in the Breckenridfe Independent School
District as created by th'is Act is new without adeouate free
s chool fac;it es, and that prac-icallv all scholastics now residing
in the te1ritorv added to the Brecke ridge Indenendent
Sh0bool Dt'ictr by this Act attend the schools of said district,

three several days be suspended, and said rule is hereby suspended

after its passage, and it is so enacted.
