CREATING BATSON INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT
IN HARDIN COUNTY.
H. B. No. 379.] CHAPTER 14.
An Act to create the Batson Independent School District in Hardin
County, Texas, including therein the present Batson Independent
School District in said county; providing a board of trustees therefor,
vesting the said independent district board with all of the rights,
powers, privileges and duties conferred upon independent school districts
incorporated under the General Laws of Texas; fixing the term
of office of such trustees, and declaring an emergency.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Texas:
SECTION 1. That the Batson Independent School District in
Hardin County, Texas, including therein the present Batson Independent
School District in said county, is hereby created and
established with metes and bounds as follows:
Beginning at the southwest corner of Hardin County, thence
east with the south boundary line of Hardin County to a point
south of the southeast corner of the Faustino Chavano Survey
and of the southwest corner of the B. Bela Survey, where a continuation
of the line dividing these surveys would intersect the
Hardin County south boundary; thence north to the southeast
corner of the Faustino Chavano, being also the Southwest
corner of the B. Bela; thence north with the dividing line between
the aforementioned two surveys to the northeast corner
of the Chavano, being also the northwest corner of the Bela;
thence west with the north boundary line of the Chavano Survey
to the intersection therewith with the east boundary line of
the Spencer Osborn Survey; thence north with the east boundary
line of the Spencer Osborn Survey, past the northeast corner
thereof, to a point on the south boundary line of the Gregoria
Garcia Survey, where a continuation of the east boundary line
of the Spencer Osborn Survey would intersect the same, being the
northwest corner of a tract of land known as Hardin County
School Land Survey; thence in an easterly direction with the
south boundary line of the Gregoria Garcia Survey to the southeast
corner thereof; being the southwest corner of the Joel Hawley
League; thence north with the east line of the G. Garcia League
to its northeast corner; thence south ten (10) degrees W. to
the southeast corner of the Rouben Wood League; thence with
its east line to its northeast corner; thence north to the south
line of the Joseph Coit Survey; thence west to its southwest
corner; thence north to a point due east to the southeast corner
of the J. M. Seaton Survey; thence west to the southwest corner
of the J. M. Seaton Survey, which is also the southeast corner
of the Duncan Buchanan Survey; thence west to the southwest
corner of the Duncan Buchanan Survey; thence north to the
southeast corner of the J. F. Johnson Survey; thence west to its
southwest corner; thence north to southeast corner of the Thos.
Handlin Survey; thence west to its southwest corner; thence
