sects the said line between Harris and Liberty Counties; thence
in a southerly direction with said line between said Harris and
Liberty Counties to a point where same intersects Cedar Bayou,
this point being where said Cedar Bayou intersects the said line
between said Counties of Harris and Liberty aforesaid; thence
in a southerly direction with the meanders of said Cedar Bayou
to a point where said Cedar Bayou intersects the north line of
Chambers County at the northwest corner of said Chambers
County, this point being the northwest corner of said Chambers
County and also the southwest corner of said Liberty County;
thence in an easterly direction with the line between said Liberty
and Chambers Counties to a point where the same intersects the
Trinity River; thence in a northwesterly direction up the said
Trinity River with its meanders to a point where said Trinity
River intersects the south line of the Liberty Independent School
District, which point is also the northeast corner of the Wm. D.
Smith Survey and also the southeast corner of the William Duncan
survey; thence along the said Liberty Independent School
District south line in a easterly direction to the southeast corner
of the Dayton Independent School District as the same now exists,
this point being also the southwest corner of the said Liberty
Independent School District; thence in a northerly direction
along the line between the said Liberty Independent School District
and the said Dayton Independent School District as the
same now exists to the place of beginning.
SEC. 2. The management and control of the public free
schools in said Dayton Independent, as hereby created, are hereby
vested in a board of trustees which shall be composed of seven
persons, resident citizens and qualified voters within said district,
as provided by the General Laws of the State of Texas.
The board of trustees as heretofore elected and now serving for
the Dayton Independent School District, as now existing, are
hereby continued in office and shall serve as such for the Dayton
Independent School District hereby created until their respective
terms shall have expired and until their successors are
duly elected and qualified under the General Laws of this State;
and all other boards of trustees within the said Dayton Independent
School District hereby created are hereby abolished.
SEC. 3. The title to all the properties belonging to any and
all the school districts included within and composing the Dayton
Independent School District hereby created, and to all property
held in trust by any person or persons for the use and
benefit of any and all such school districts, is hereby divested
from and out of such school districts, and all persons holding
same or any part thereof in trust, and vested in said Dayton
Independent and its Board of Trustees; and said Dayton Independent
School District shall be liable for and pay all indebtedness
owing by such former school districts and shall carry out
all their contracts or the contracts of any one of such school
districts.
SEC. 4. Said Dayton Independent School District shall have
