ENLARGING AND RE-CREATING THE DAYTON INDEPENDENT
SCHOOL DISTRICT IN LIBERTY COUNTY.
H. B. No. 313.] CHAPTER 7.
An Act to enlarge and re-create the Dayton Independent School District
in Liberty County, Texas, defining its boundaries, to provide for the
election of trustees, providing for the retention in office of the present
board of trustees of the Dayton Independnt School District, and providing
for the abolition of all other boards of trustees of any school
district included within the district hereby created, providing for the
raising of revenue, issuing bonds, maintaining public free schools, providing
for the means of transportation of the school children in said
district, to provide for the establishment of voting precincts and places
for the holding of elections within said district, validating all issues
of bonds heretofore voted and made, declaring valid and continuing
in force all maintenance taxes heretofore voted and levied, providing
for an election to determine (1) whether the entire district as a
whole as herein created shall assume all outstanding bonding indebtedness,
(2) whether all property within the Dayton Independent
School District as created by this Act, shall be subject to all special
school taxes heretofore voted and levied by the Dayton Independent
School District, repealing all laws in conflict with this Act and declaring
an emergency.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Texas:
SECTION 1. That an Independent School District is hereby
created and established in Liberty County, Texas, to be known
as Dayton Inedpendent School District, including within its
limits the following described territory, to-wit:
Beginning at a point which is now the established northeast
corner of the present Dayton Independent School District, the
same being the northwest corner of the Liberty Independent
School District; thence east along the north line of the said
Liberty Independent School District to the Trinity River; thence
up said Trinity River in a general northerly direction, with the
meanders of said Trinity to a point where the north line of Common
School District No. 9, in said Liberty County, Texas, intersects
the said Trinity River, this point being the northeast corner
of said Common School District No. 9; thence west with the
north line of said Common School District No. 9 and along the
north line of the William Whitlock survey to the southwest
corner of the A. B. Hardin survey which is also the southeast
corner of the Catlet Burnett survey; thence south across the said
William Whitlock survey to its south line which is also the north
line of the Jerusha Hardin survey; thence west along the north
line of the said Jerusha Hardin survey which is the northwest
corner of the said Jerusha Hardin survey; thence south with the
west line of said Jerusha Hardin survey to the southwest corner
of the said Jerusha Hardin survey; thence southwest with the
line of said Common School District No. 9 to a point of intersection
with Luces Bayou; thence in a southwesterly direction
and with the meanders of said Luces Bayou to the east line of
Harris County, the same being the West boundary in line of said
Liberty County, this point being where said Luces Bayou inter-
