and those against the levying of such tax or the issuance of
such bonds, shall write or print on their ballots, "Against the
Tax," and due returns thereof shall be made to said board of
trustees within ten days, and the results thereof shall be recorded
by said trustees in a well bound book to be kept for that
purpose.
SEC. 13. Property valuation in said New Home Independent
School District shall be fixed by the board of trustees of said
district, and the said board of trustees is hereby given all power
and authority now conferred by law upon the commissioners
courts when sitting as boards of equalization fixing property
values in said independent school district.
SEC. 14. It is hereby expressly provided that any and all
outstanding obligations and indebtedness of said New Home
Common School District No. 12 of Lynn County, Texas, is hereby
validated and all such obligations and indebtedness of said
common school district shall be assumed by and are hereby
made binding obligations of said New Home Independent School
District as the same is created by this Act.
SEC 14a. All taxes heretofore voted by the qualified voters
in said New Home Common School District No. 12 in Lynn
County, Texas, and now in force therein, are hereby validated
and continued in force in New Home Independent School District
hereby created until such time as a majority of the qualified
property tax paying voters in said district shall see proper
to increase, diminish or abolish the same as provided under the
General Statutes of this State.
SEC. 15. It is specially provided that the election held in said
New Home Common School District No. 12 of Lynn County,
Texas, which was held on the 5thday of July, A. D. 1924, in
said common school district had and held thereunder are hereby
validated and any and all bonds authorized to be issued
thereunder are hereby validated and made binding obligations
on the district created by this Act, to the amount of $2,000.00
and said bonds when so issued are hereby assumed by this district
created by this Act and made binding obligations on this
district created by this Act.
SEC. 16. The title to all property heretofore and now vested
in said New Home Common School District No. 12 in Lynn
County, Texas, is hereby divested out of said common school
district and is hereby vested in the board of trustees of said
New Home Independent School District.
SEC. 17. Any vacancy occuring on the board of trustees shall
be filled by the remaining members thereof by appointment for
the unexpired term of a person qualified under the provisions
of this Act to hold such office.
SEC. 18. The board of trustees shall provide a suitable seal
to be used in the authentication of all bonds, warrants, contracts
or other documents executed by the authority of said
board.
SEC. 19. In all matters not provided for in this Act, the
,said board of trustees of said district, and all other officers
