CHANGING TERRITORY IN THE BATSON INDEPENDENT
SCHOOL DISTRICT SO AS TO INCLUDE SOME
OF THE TERRITORY IN THE SOUR LAKE
INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT.
H. B. No. 364.] CHAPTER 29.
An Act to change the territory included in the Batson Independent School
District so as to include a part of the territory now included in the
Sour Lake Independent School District and to exclude a part of the
territory now included in the Batson Independent School District;
and providing that the territory so included and excluded shall remain
and be chargeable respectively with bonded indebtedness not outstanding
against the same; and providing that said Batson Independent
School District shall be entitled to all taxes collected; or to be collected,
by it for the years 1924 and 1925, in the district as it stood
before the passage of this Act; and providing that should a part of this
Act be declared unconstitutional or ineffectual such shall not affect
the remaining parts; repealing all laws and parts of laws in conflict
herewith; and declaring an emergency.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Texas:
SECTION 1. That the territory included in Batson Independent
School District, in Hardin County, be and the same is hereby
changed so as hereafter to include a portion of the territory
heretofore embraced in the Sour Lake Independent School District
in Hardin County, and to exclude a portion of the territory
heretofore included in the Batson Independent School District
in Hardin County, and the territory hereafter to be included in
Batson Independent School District is and shall be as follows:
Beginning at the southwest corner of Hardin County, thence
east with the south boundary line of Hardin County to a point
south of the southeast corner of the Faustino Chavano Survey
and of the southwest corner of the B. Bela Survey, where a continuation
of the line dividing these surveys would intersect the
Hardin County south boundary; thence north to the southeast
corner of the Faustino Chavano, being also the southwest corner
of the B. Bela; thence north with the dividing line between
the aforementioned two surveys to the northeast corner of the
Chavano, being also the northwest corner of the Bela, thence
west with the north boundary line of the Chavano Survey to the
intersection therewith with the east boundary line of the Spenzer
Osborn Survey; thence north with the east boundary line of
the Spencer Osborn Survey, past the northeast corner thereof,
bo a point on the south boundary line of the Gregoria Garcia
3urvey, where a continuation of the east boundary line of the
Spencer Osborn Survey would intersect the same, being the
northwest corner of a tract of land known as Hardin County
School Land Survey; thence in an easterly direction with the
;outh boundary line of the Gregoria Garcia Survey to the southeast
corner thereof, being the southwest corner of the Joel
lawley League; thence north with the east line of the G. Garcia
league to its northeast corner; thence south ten (10) degrees
WV. to the southeast corner of the Rouben Wood League; thence
