SEC. 2. The management and control of the public schools
of said Spicewood Independent School District is hereby vested
in a board of trustees that shall be composed of seven persons
who are resident citizens and qualified voters within said district;
and the trsutees of said district are hereby continued in
office until the expiration of their respective terms and until
their successors shall have been duly elected and qualified
according to law.
SEC. 3. That the board of trustees of the Spicewood Independent
School District as created and extended herein shall
have and exercise and are hereby vested and charged with all
the rights, powers, privileges and duties conferred and imposed
by the General Laws of this State now in force or hereafter to
be enacted upon the board of trustees of independent school districts
organized under the General Laws of this State.
SEC. 4. All levies of taxes heretofore made by said district
for maintenance, bonding or other purposes and now in force
are hereby validated and continued and declared in full force
and effect in said independent school district.
SEC. 5. The maintenance tax heretofore voted by said Spicewood
Independent School District is in all respects validated
and said tax shall continue to be collected on all property situated
within said district as extended as well as on all property within
said district as the same now exists; and the board of trustees
of said district is hereby authorized and empowered, with or
without a petition, to order an election to be held in said district
as extended to determine whether or not any tax heretofore
voted by said district shall be levied, assessed and collected upon
all property within said district as extended. Said election shall
