VALIDATING CERTAIN PROCEEDINGS OF THE COUNTY
SCHOOL TRUSTEES OF JIM WELLS COUNTY.
H. B. No. 122.] CHAPTER 6.
An Act validating the proceedings of the county school trustees of Jim
Wells County, Texas, in changing the boundaries of Alice Independent
School District in said county and validating all proceedings had with
respect to levying a tax of $1.00 upon the $100 00 valuation of all
the taxable property in said school district and validating all proceedings
had with reference to the issuance of $75.000 00 of school building
bonds and authorizing their issuance and repealing all laws in
conflict and declaring an emergency"
Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Texas:
SECTION 1. That the Alice Independent School District, as
heretofore created and defined by House Bill No. 101, Chapter 24
of the Special and Local Laws passed at the First Called Session
of the Thirty-seventh Legislature of the State of Texas at page
86 and as changed by the county school trustees of Jim Wells
County, Texas, by the order of said county school trustees, made
on the 26th day of August, 1924, fixing and describing the metes
and bounds of said district as follows:
Beginning at a post mkd "-", the S. E. corner of Abraham
Perez 8765.8 acre tract;
Thence north about 1000 varas to the N. W. corner of what
is known as the Robert Adams tract;
Thence east about 5500 varas to the N. E. corner of said
Robert Adams tract;
Thence south along the east line of said Robert Adams tract
and Hancock, Loving and Roby subdivision at about 11400 varas
cross the Texas Mexican Railroad and Percenos Creek and continuing
in the same direction passing along the west boundary
line of Blocks 1-2-3-8-9-14-17-22 and 27 of the Wm. Adams Farm
Blocks about 19500 varas to the S. W. corner of said Block No.
27 of the Wm. Adams Farm Blocks;
Thence east about 5800 varas to the N. E. corner of Block
No. 1 of the Adams-Staples Farm Lots;
Thence south about 385 varas to the S. W. corner of Section
7 of the Benton Pasture Subdivision;
Thence east along the south boundary line of Section 7 and 8
of the Benton pasture subdivision about 3200 varas to the S. E.
corner of said Section No. 8, a point in the east boundary line of
Jim Wells County;
Thence S. W. along the east boundary line of Jim Wells
County about 7600 varas to an upper S. E. corner of said Jim
Wells County;;
Thence west along the south boundary of said Jim Wells
County passing the S. E. corner of Luciano Garcia's pasture at
about 7500 varas to a point on the Jim Wells County line, where
the Alice-Kingsville public road crosses the same;
Thence in a northwesterly direction along the Alice-Kingsville
public road about 2500 varas to the S. W. corner of Block No. 24
of the Adams-Staples farm lots, a point where the Alice-Kings-
