WATCH YOUR
P s AND Q S
Advice: " Always mind your own " P'S and " Q'S"
I was told in my search for advice that I was being nosey,
so to speak, by asking people something that they shouldn't tell
me. In short, I wasn't minding my P's and G's.
I was told that the reason why people should mind their own
P's and Q's was so that they could stay out of trouble and not
get involved with affaris other than their own. They were not
to pay attention to hearsay. They majority of the black fami-
lies always taught their children to mind their own business and
never to interfere with issues not relating to them.
In many cases it takes a person with a strong will to over-
come the temptation to gossip about someone else's personal con-
flict. He must always remember that in the lone run, he must
first be on his P's and a's in order to mind his P's and a's and
not those of someone else.49
