the funeral came off the morning of fifth. every
body attended Mr. Choat read the burial servis.
after the funeral we had dinner then dancing.
danced in anew store house. it was built by Mr
Stafford. he would have brought dry goods and
opend astore if the trouble at anahuac could have
been peaceable arraigned. the Mexians officers
was at the ball thy didn't Country dances. Mr.
Kockernut and wife were germans. they waltz.
Captain tenorio waltz with Mrs Kokernut. she
could speek french. Captain teronio also was
afrench Scholar. they daced and talked all the
eveing. she is handsom and he a finelooking man.

old people gloomy. the mexicans prisoner will be
sent to Sanantonio in a few day. the disarming of
the garrison at Anahuac was without blood shed
but one man wounded. he was shot by the
mexicans when they arrested Mr. Briscoe and
Clinton Harris. our school opend agane on the
tenth. the teacher say the young men and boys
dont study they talk war all the time seem to
think two or three hundred texans could whip

Major Binghgm has been to San Felipe. on his
return he staid one night with Father. think Willia
B. Travis and others will keep up the agitation.
says there is an order from Sanantonio to arrest
several texans and send them to Mexco for trial.

texans an order was issued to Colonel
Ugartachea to arret seven texans and send them
to Sanantonio to be triede by court martial. this
was more than the people could bear. there is
grea exitement. there is acall for aconvention to
meet at San Felipe the 12th of September
ameeting was calld in our neighborhood to electe
adelegate to the convention. the farmers have
not much time to spare but will not see the texans
arrested there is amexican staing at San felipe
says he is just from mexico says there is alarge
army marching from mexico to garrison
Sanantonio anahuac velasco and all towns in
texas. says Stephen F. Austin has been liberated
and will soon be home. Advised the people to
stop holding political meetins and giv up the men
that disarmed the garrison at anahuac he speeks
english and says he is afriend to Stephen F. Austin
and texas.

our people don't believe aword the mexican sais
thinks the maxican goverment sent him to watch
the texans. some of them would have him
arrested but there is not a Jail in Austin Colony
and no one has tim to guard him. at the election
in our neighborhood they elected Mr C. C. Dyer
delegate to the convention Harris-burg elected
