ABOLISHING THE CRIMINAL DISTRICT COURT OF
BOWIE COUNTY.
S. B. No. 8.] CHAPTER 9.
An Act abolishing the Criminal District Court of Bowie County, Texas;
repealing Chapter 28 of the General Laws of the Fourth Called Session of
the 35th Legislature and Chapter 8 of the General Laws of the Second
Called Session of the 36th Legislature, which acts create and relate to the
Criminal District Court of Bowie County; reviving any laws repealed by
said statutes not otherwise repealed; restoring the jurisdiction of other
courts of Bowie County to conform to the purpose of this Act; and making
this Act effective December 31, 1922.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Texas:
SECTION 1. That the Criminal District Court of Bowie County is
hereby abolished and Chapter 28 of the General Laws of the Fourth
Called Session of the 35th Legislature, and Chapter 8 of the General
Laws of the Second Called Session of the 36th Legislature, are each
and both hereby in all things repealed.
SEC. 2. All Criminal cases pending in the Criminal District Court
of Bowie County at the time this Act Takes effect, shall by force of
this Act be immediately transferred to the court, or courts of competent
jurisdiction, without any order for any such transfer being
made, and the jurisdiction of any such court, or courts, shall attach
to all cases pending in said Criminal District Court when this Act
takes effect, and it shall be the duty of the District Clerk of Bowie
County to make any necessary transfer of papers, records, files, books
and dockets to carry out the purposes of this Act.
SEC. 3. All laws repealed expressly or impliedly by said Chapter
28 of the General Laws of the Fourth Called Session of the Thirtyfifth
Legislature or by Chapter 8 of the General Laws of the Second
Called Session of the Thirty-sixth Legislature, are hereby revived
except in so far as the same may have been repealed by other statute
or statutes, and the jurisdiction of the District Court of Bowie
County, the County Court of Bowie County, the corporation court of
the City of Texarkana, the justice courts of Bowie County and other
inferior courts of Bowie County shall be the same as if the Criminal
District Court of Bowie County had never been created by said Acts.
SEC. 4. This Act shall take effect and be in force on and after
December 31, 1922.

Senate. No vote given; and passed the House with amendments. No
vote given. That the Senate concurred in House amendments. No
vote given.]
