The Menace-
After about two months treatment the doctors found that
Mueller had a little more money, so they informed him that
his medicine was all gone and they would have to order
eight ounces more in order to effect the cure. Mueller
again protested, but they informed him that he could either
do that or they could go no further with the treatment, and
he was not yet well. So there was nothing left but for
Adolph to dig up again. So he gave them $225 more, mak-
ing a total of $806, which these skunks skinned this poor
ignorant German boy out of.
And the most deplorable thing of it all, a physician call-
ing himself ethical and a member of the local medical so-
ciety, assisted these fakers in getting this money from this
poor German boy, by going to their office and operating
on the boy for a slight varicocele, which did not require an
operation. As long as physicians calling themselves reput-
able, lend their names and influence in assisting these devils,
I will say that they are just as much infected with the
quackerites as the advertising skunks themselves. And the
sooner we sift out these fee-splitting, quackerite, pie-ball
scallawags, the sooner our society will attain that high
standing in the community it should.
Upon the fraud practiced in this case we had Stotts ar-
rested for fraud and swindling over the value of fifty dol-
lars.32
