Dearest Friend

In compliance with your request to write soon, I now try to answer your most welcome missive which came to hand last eve. Emma, I looked and longed for your letter one week and a half but was repaid for my patience by receiving your most welcome letter yesterday. Emma, I don't feel very well this morning, so if you find any mistakes of any nature, you will please overlook them. You say you will have to enroll me amongst your list of "flatterers."
