Sunday Evening
Dear friend Johnie:

As brother Fletcher was compelled to start to Tyler this morning and can't be here to write a note of thanks for the Patterns you sent him, I will endeavor to show to you my gratefulness for your kindness, by enclosing a small "boquet," (the best I could do) as a memento of the pleasant moments we have spent together.

"Oh happy days! how bright ye seem
Far in the distant past;
Those blissful scenes to which my mind
Shall wander to the last."

I have been made to call to memory vivid recollections of my childhood hours since I have been afforded such a delightful privilege of conversing with your Pa and Ma.
