Fire Destroys Fin ley
Home, Friday Night
At an early hour Friday even in;,
fire was discovered in the home of
Mr. and Mrs. George Finley. The*
house and all of its contents were
destroyed except a few articles that
could be carried from the sleeping
porch.
Mr. and Mrs. Finley and children
with the exception of George Jr., had
left early in the afternoon on a busi-
ness trip to Dallas. George Jr. and
Thomas Perkins had gone down that
evi 11inj_v and done all the chores ami
then went back later and looked to
ee that everything was alright about
the stove and house, they then went
to the picture show. Some melt in
the streets sensed something burning
and following the odor, were led in a
southwestern direction to this hone'
Heavy smoke was all that was dis-
ci inable at. first, then flames burst
forth filling the house so that no en-
trance could be gained;
Air. and .Mr--. Finley were' located
at Ft, Worth, where they had stop-
ped for the night, at about eleven o'-
clock. They had only been there a-
bout an hour, so they hurried back to
behold their once eonnnOdiou;- home
now in ashes.
