His HERITAGE...the SOIL
K
For generations past, the rich soil
of Texas has given food, feed
and wealth to Texas; but we have
abused and wasted this heritage.
Years of constant planting and
soil erosion have taken their toll
of the rich top soil; and, if we are
to continue to produce crops ef-
ficiently and economically, we
MUST give back to the soil itsoriginal richness and productivity.
Plant legu-aes and cover crops.
Save the fertility used in the grow-
ing of cotton and grain crops-
feed cottonseed meal, cake and
hulls with your grains to livestock.
We must build back this soil
heritage to its original richness, so
that it can continue to produce for
future generations.TEXA COTNSE CRSES ASOIATIO
