tPopulation of Texarkana City, Miller County, Ark 11,821 in 1940, 10,764 in 1930, 8,257 in 1920,

Counties of Rapid Population Growth, 1940-1943.
The table below includes each county in Texas which showed larger registration for food
ration card No. 2, Feb. 24-27, 1943, than was enumerated as its census of population in 1940.
Only figures for the initial food ration registration are included. These are estimated by
authorities to have averaged about 5 per cent less than total population of the county. Hence
1943 population can be estimated at 5 to 6 per cent larger than the food card registration
On pages 65 and 67 begin tables showing population of Texas counties according to the census
of 1940. On page 70 begins a table showing 1940 census figures on cities, with estimates for
1943 in instances of appreciable growth during the 1940-1943 interval.Popu- Food Card
