Meetings
The Association will hold its 1976 annual meeting in Galveston, March
4-6.
The American Association of Museums meets in Los Angeles, California,
June 1-5, 1975.
The American Association for State and Local History meets on Mack-
inac Island, Michigan, September i6-i9, I975.
Accessions
The papers of John Grant Tod, consisting of over 2,000 items, have been
presented to the Rosenberg Library of Galveston in behalf of Tod's de-
scendants. These papers fall into the following categories: I) Texas navy
and personal correspondence, 1837-1845, 2) Mexican War diary and cor-
respondence, 3) Gail Borden items relating to food processing, 4) Civil
War correspondence, 5) railroad organization and promotion.
Memorabilia used by Peter Hurd during his association with the Texas
navy has been presented to the library, including navigation instruments,
telescopes, sword, and compass.
The Rosenberg Library is conducting a search for papers and drawings
of the architect Nicholas J. Clayton. To date the library has acquired some
original Clayton material and copied several hundred Clayton drawings.
Anyone knowing of buildings designed by Clayton, or the location of any
Clayton drawings, is requested to contact Larry Wygant, Archivist, Rosen-
berg Library, 2310o Sealy, Galveston, Texas 77550.

Jr., Hall of Early Texas Cultures was dedicated on October 24, 1974, at
