Sherman June 29 1884
The Committee of Old Settlers met for Transaction of business. Present: W. W. Wheat, A. T. Book, Horace Sea, Tim Richards, John W. Stewart, and J. P. Loving.
It was agreed that we have our Picnic on Thursday and Friday Aug 28th and 29th. 1884

The committee decided to meet at W. E. Staples Grove.
He furnished grounds without charge.
W. E. Staples was employed to erect stands, seats, and c.
Programme
First day Thursday Aug. 28th 1884.
Welcome address by [ ] C. W. Cooke at 10 am.
Response by Capt. J D Woods
The evening to be occupied in croquet and other games and social amusements-
Speech by Jm. Brinkley at 8 pm.

Second Day Friday Aug 29th 1884.

Speech by Rev. W. G. Dimmitt of Sherman at 10 am.
Speech by Rev. John Leonley of Ky Farm at 11 am.
The evening to be occupied in games and other amusements and social chats and etc.-

Speech by Janett Finney at 8 pm.
Valedictory address by Benj. F. Christian of Whitesboro.
Everybody whether old or new settlers is invited to attend and bring their baskets of provisions and camp with us and we insure for an enjoyable good time.
