The old settlers were out in full force although to-morrow is, according to the programme, their day, to-day having been set for the reunion of the ex-Confederate Missourians.
The day was all that could be wished for, clear and bright, and even Old Sol sent his kindly beams with a milder touch than is his wont at this season as a tender of his accomodations were all that could be desired if we except that there was a lack of seats. This was owing however to the crowd being greater than was anticipated. The usual complaint of a scarcity of water was not heard, as barrels of ice-water were stationed around plentifully and always kept full.
At the picnic grounds last night a large crowd assembled and passed away several hours very pleasantly singing dancing and telling reminesences of old times.
Taken all in all, the reunion was a successful, pleasant and happy affair.
The old settlers to-day will be as fully if not more interesting.
