The Old Settlers.

A meeting of the Old Settlers and Ex-Confederate Missourians was held at Sherman, Texas, March 20, 1882, and the following members were present:
Old Settlers.--Judge S. Hare, Richard Fitch, John Jennings, S. E Elliott, L. P. Montgomery, J. M. McMurray, John M. Robertson, Vestal Hughes, J. R. Jeter, E. J. C. Thompson, J. D. Woods and J. P. Loving.
On the part of Ex-Confederate Missourians--Dr. W. H. Trolinger, Col. I V Cockrell, Dr. G. S. Staples, W. A. Wells, J. C. Dorser, H. N. Tuck, J. E. Adams, J. A. Clark and L. L. Maughs.
On motion of W. H. Trolinger, Judge S. Hare was made chairman of the meeting.
On motion W. A. Wells was elected Secretary.
It having been previously agreed upon to hold a joint reunion and picnic of the Old Settlers and Ex-Confederate Missourians on the 10 and 11 of August next, in the city of Sherman.
The following joint executive committee was then selected:
Judge S. Hare, Chairman; J. V. Cockrell, W. H. Trolinger, H. N. Tuck, J. P. Loving, J. D. Woods and George Melton.
On motion meeting adjourned.

The Executive Committee on the part of the Old Settlers of Grayson county, and Ex-Confederat Missourians reunion and picnic, met and J. P. Loving was elected secretary and treasurer.
The following committees were appointed:
On Speaking and Entertainment.--W. H. Trolinger, J. V. Cockrell, S. Hare, J. D. Woods and John Jennings.
On Grounds, Water, Eating Stands, etc.,--J. E. Adams, chairman; J. C. Dorser, J. P. Loving.
On Printing and Music.--Dr. G. S. Staples, J. R. Jeter, Dick Hopson, and Granville O. Hunter.
Finance.--Wm. Levy, chairman; S. Hare, W. H. Trolinger, L. F. Ely, Eb Douglass.
The following sub-committees on finance were appointed:
Denison.--L. L. Maughs, John K. Miller, Alex Morrison.
Whitesboro.--B. F. Christian, Jim McCool, W. D. Ligon.
Collinsville.--A. E. Hughes. Dr. J. L. Vowell, Jonathan Adamson.
Farmington.--A. K. Hulett, J. M. Collins, W. w. Wheat.
Van Alstyne--J. S. Pattie, J. L. Leslie, ----- McCorkle.
Kentuckytown and Whitewright.--H. B. Lindsey, E. Y. Skaggs, J. A. Batsell.
Pilot Grove.--N. M. Drye, Simon Sivells, B. F. Barrett.
Bells.--Jim Lindsey, W. P. Dugan, G. S. Fitzgerald.
Gordonville--S. M. Gordon, Hi Dennis, and Neeley Weaver.
Pottsboro--I. N. Holder, Wm. Orme and G. R. Reeves.
It will be the duty of these sub-committees on finance to solicit contributions in their neighborhoods for the purpose of defraying the expenses of this reunion, and when collected forwarded to J. P. Loving, Sec'y. and Treas, Sherman.
Mayor Levy was appointed on committee of reception, to have general supervision of the entertainment, with power to appoint marshals, etc.
Adjourned to meet in Sherman, in mayor's office, at 1 o'clock, May 1st, when a full sttendance of all the committees, as well as members of each organization, is desired.

THE OLD SETTLERS.

Old settlers and Missouri ex-Confederate committee met Monday, May 1st, pursuant to adjournment.
Said committee being ready for business Dr. W. H. Trollinger moved that the committee adjourn until Saturday, the 17th day of June, 1882, and that in the meantime the secretary of this meeting notify all the sub-finance committees to procure such subscriptions as they can, making the same payable by the 15th of July, and report to this committee on the above named day, at 1 o'clock p.m., at the court house in Sherman.
Motion carried and meeting adjourned.
