diversified with the finest flavored fruit. We wanted to eat more but hadn't the capacity.
The following resolutions were unanimously adopted:
Resolved 1. That this association shall here after be known and styled was The Old Settlers Association of North Texas;
2. That the names of the old pioneers, late of North Texas, who have passed away shall ever be held sacred in the memory of this association and that as fas as possible to be obtained the names of the de parted be published in the county papers and each member of the association preserve a copy of the same for the future reference and use.
3. Resolved 3 That a committee of five 5 be appointed to memorialize the legislature of Texas and urge them tp make provisions for the execution of a momument to the memory of the Texas Heros [corr: Heroes] who fell in defense of their country at the Battle of San Jacinto.
The committee appointed in pursuance of the above resolutions were Joe Bledsoe, Silas Hare, J. R. Jeter, John Jennings, and James Frasier.
4. That Mrs. Robert King, Mrs Wheat, Mrs Judge [add: Porter], and Mrs M. E. Whieaker and any of the old ladies of [gap: illegible] be requested to make a statement of their experience in the early settlements of Grayson County, to be published in the county papers.
5. That a vote of thanks extended to Mr. J. C. [gap: illegible] for the generosity and kindness manifested by him in donating the use of the grove for holding of the reunion, and the interest taken by him in doind all in his power to forward it to success.
6. That in view of the fact that the J. Bledsoe [gap: illegible] near the suberb [corr: suburb] of Sherman, is more centerly [corr: centrally] located and accessible from all parts of the county, that the next annual reunion of the Old Settlers Association of North Texas will be held there and that a special committee be appointed to make the necessary arrangements.
